The Penderyn Welsh Single Malt Whisky matured in Madeira wood barrels. The Whisky is non chill filtered and here as nice giftpackage with a miniature.

Penderyn - raisins on the nose, light playful malt and then a backdrop of sweet wine; absolutely staggering arrival on the palate of malt landing with almost snowflake delicateness. Immediately a second movement, this time of bitter-sweet fruit, blood orange included, sweeps down over the startled tastebuds. Astonishing stuff; slightly bitter and tart towards the finish and two variants of oak begin to dive into the melee. It was pleasure and privilege to be the first person from outside the company to discuss and analyse the beauty of this whisky at its spectacular official launch on St David's Day 2004. I told them they were tasting not just an historic malt whisky but one that deserved the highest praise on its own right. Re-tasting it again for the Bible, I stand by every word. Rating 91/100 "brilliant"
