The Johnnie Walker Double Black is much more smoky and has a deeper aroma than the regular Black Label, although very smooth in finish. There are different whiskies used for the Johnnie Walker Double Black - for example the Caol Ila 12 years and more than 40 different whiskeys, which all matured at least 12 years.
The double black is based on the Johnnie Walker Black Label. The only question is: "black or double black?" Some people won't be able to decide.
