The Glenmorangie 18 years was awarded the gold medal at the IWSC 2010 and was best in class in the category Whisky Scotch.

Tasting notes of Michael Jackson:

Nose: Some oak. More vanilla. Lots of walnuts. Touch of peppermint.
Palate: Fleshier. Good wood-extract and esters. Some peatiness emerging. The whole potpourri of spiciness.
Finish: Firm, dry, rounded. Nutty. Hint of peat.
Comment: While the middle brother in this range seems best to capture the Glenmorangie house character, this older version is a richer whisky. I could like them equally, according to my mood.

In dieser Preisklasse als hervorragend einzustufen. "Bester Scotch Whisky 2010 laut IWSC" ?? Durchaus verständlich. Schon das erste Glas überzeugt. Das zweite schmeckt noch besser. Das dritte sollte man sich für später aufheben, sonst ist die Flasche zu schnell leer,...
